Technology is now available to recycle food waste/kitchen waste to produce biodiesel/biogas.
- Greenergy, a leading national provider of road fuel in U.K has started producing biodiesel from unsaleable high fat solid foods such as pies, sausage rolls, pastry and crisps.
- Biotech from the state of Kerala, India has proved that kitchen waste and food waste can be used to produce biogas.
Government must make it compulsory to set up biogas plants to recycle food waste/kitchen waste in all cities and towns (like compulsory rain water harvesting arrangement in Tamil Nadu).
