Chef Damu: First Indian to Receive PhD in Hotel Management and Catering Technology

Chef_Damu Mr. K.Damodharan is the first Indian chef to receive PhD in Hotel Management and Catering Technology.

He started his career in the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corportion as Management Trainee in 1975 after completing Diploma in Hotel management and Catering Technology from Institute of Hotel Management- Taramani, Chennai. He further completed B.Com from Annamalai University, MBA from Madras University, the CHE and CHA from the EI of the “American Hotel and Motel Association”, Conference Center Management from “Cornell University”.

He stepped into teaching profession in 1986. He has headed Chennai based Asan Institute of Hotel Management, MGR Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology and is presently with the Empee Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology.

He is well-known for his book ‘Damu’s Home Free Style Cooking’ in English and Tamil.

Here is a new assignment to Chef Damodaran from Tamil Nadu government. He has started training mid day (noon meal) meal scheme workers to provide tasty food to children. Read more from The Times of India.

Recently I am Working as a Lecturer in Sinhgad Institute of Hotel Managment And Catering Technology, Lonavala. Iam working in Academics since 3 yrs. I’ ve completed my DHMCT from MSBTE in First Class and Master’s in Tourism Management in First Class from IGNOU, Recently pursuing TY BSc in Hotel Management & Tourism Mgt as well as Frnch Certificate course in Pune University. Kindly guide me in what do i do the Phd. And subject do i take. Waiting for your response.

it wil help me coz i just married n not really good in cooking.
