Urad Dal (Skinned Black Gram) Powder/Ulundu Maavu for South Indian Snacks

Method

  • Clean urad dal first to remove impurities like small stone etc.

  • Dry roast it in a hot empty pan till it becomes slightly red in colour in low or medium flame; this can be felt by the nice aroma coming while roasting.

  • Cool it.

  • Powder it in a mixer-grinder to a fine powder consistency.

  • Sieve it.
